Austell, GA

Ranch house with an attached garage and a paved drive in Austell

Cobb County, GA

Austell’s general contractor

Austell has older housing stock and a good deal of manufactured housing, which is a category most remodeling shops decline.

The houses in Austell

We do both. Site-built work here is usually older houses needing systems and structural correction; the manufactured housing work is mostly bathrooms and the floor repairs that come with them.

Cobb is mostly eighties and nineties construction with a lot of original bathrooms and kitchens still in place. Those houses tend to have good bones and finishes that are now well past their service life.

We are based in Roswell, which puts Austell comfortably inside our working radius. Austell sits in Cobb County, and the rest of that county is on the county page.

How we work

Before 2021, Igor Dubovoy worked for a company doing something like five hundred remodels a month. Twenty years in the trade had taught him what good work looks like, and that was not it. He started SSRGA to prove a smaller shop can outbuild a bigger one when it is not chasing throughput.

There is a ceiling on how many projects we take at once, and we hit it on purpose. Volume is what Igor left behind.

How a job actually runs

First visit

Igor walks the space, asks what you actually use the room for, and gives you a straight answer about scope. Some jobs are smaller than people fear. Some are bigger. You get the real version either way.

Opening it up

The moment demo starts, the house tells you what it has been hiding. We document what we find, explain what it means for the job, and fix it properly rather than working around it.

Finishing it right

The last ten percent is where most remodels fall apart. Trim that does not quite meet, caulk lines that wander, a door that never closes square. That part gets the same attention as the framing.

What moves the number on a job like this

You will not find a price list here. Without seeing your house, any figure we posted would be wrong for most people who read it. Instead, here is what pushes cost up or down, so you can weigh your options before the walkthrough.

The biggest driver is whether anything moves. Leave the toilet, sink and outlets where they are and the work stays contained. Relocate a drain or add a circuit and walls or floors come open, and the plumber or electrician comes back.

Further down the list are condition and materials. Of the two, condition matters more. A house that has been looked after gives us fewer surprises behind the walls, and that means a tighter schedule and a lower bill.

Seeing more of it

We only show our own work. More of it lives in the gallery, sorted by project type, and it covers the construction stages too, so you can see what sits under the finished surfaces.

What it is like to have us here

Predictable hours, the same faces, and a site that gets cleaned before we leave. Floor protection and dust barriers go in before work starts.

You will know who is coming and roughly when. If a subcontractor is on site for a day, you will know that in advance too.

Questions get answered directly. There is no chain of communication to work through, because the person doing the work is the person you have been talking to since the walkthrough.

What gets inspected

Anything structural, most mechanical work, and every addition. We pull the permits, schedule the inspections and are on site for them.

Contractors who work around permitting are avoiding scrutiny, and the scrutiny is the point. The details inspectors look hardest at are the ones that cause real failures.

It also protects you later. Unpermitted work surfaces at the worst possible moment, which is usually when you are selling or making a claim.

How we think about materials

There is a version of every product at three price points and the differences are not always where the marketing says. Some of it is genuine performance and some of it is finish options.

The question we ask about every material is how hard it would be to replace. Visible hardware and fixtures are easy, so pick what you like. What sits under tile or behind drywall is not, so that is where we refuse to cut corners.

That means we sometimes talk clients out of upgrades. If a mid-range fixture performs the same as the expensive one, we would rather that money went into the part of the job nobody sees.

Keeping it right afterward

Most of what shortens the life of a remodel is small and preventable. Caulk lines that were never resealed, a bath fan that does not actually vent outside, gutters that overflow against a wall for a decade.

We walk you through what your specific project needs and how often. Some of it is annual, some of it is once every several years, and most of it takes minutes.

If something we built is not behaving the way it should, call us. We would rather look at it than have you live with it or have somebody else guess at what we did.

Where this is

Questions people ask

How long does a project like this take?

It depends on scope and on what we find when we open things up. A single bathroom is usually a few weeks; a full home remodel runs months. We give you a real schedule after the walkthrough, and we tell you when it moves.

Who is actually on site?

Our own crew and Igor in person. A big remodeling outfit sends whoever is free that week. We keep the job with the people who already know your house.

How do we get started?

Pick up the phone and dial (678) 665-7771, or use the contact page if writing is easier. Either way, the next step is Igor coming out for a free walkthrough, with no obligation afterward.

Do you handle permits?

Permits are on us. Work that needs one gets one, including additions, structural changes and most plumbing or electrical moves, and every one of them gets inspected.

Will we be able to live in the house during the work?

For a one-room project, almost always. Larger additions and full home remodels can make daily life rough, so we look at your situation during the walkthrough and tell you honestly whether staying will work.

What happens if you find something unexpected?

You find out that day. Old houses hide things, and when we open a wall and find one, we send pictures and tell you what we recommend before any work continues on it.

Let us come look at your Austell project

Send a note through the contact page or call (678) 665-7771. Igor will look at the space, hear what you have in mind, and give you a plain answer on scope. If we are booked, we will say so up front. Taking on more than a crew can do well is exactly what went wrong at the company he left.
