Tucker, GA

Renovated room with new plank flooring and a modern light fixture in Tucker

DeKalb County, GA

Tucker’s general contractor

Tucker is established, wooded and largely built out between the fifties and the eighties.

The houses in Tucker

Ranches and split levels on mature lots. Kitchen and bath remodels dominate, and the wooded lots mean deck and porch work comes up regularly.

Inside the perimeter the houses are older and smaller, and the work is usually about making an existing footprint function better rather than adding to it.

We are based in Roswell, which puts Tucker comfortably inside our working radius. Tucker sits in DeKalb County, and the rest of that county is on the county page.

How we work

Before 2021, Igor Dubovoy worked for a company doing something like five hundred remodels a month. Twenty years in the trade had taught him what good work looks like, and that was not it. He started SSRGA to prove a smaller shop can outbuild a bigger one when it is not chasing throughput.

You will deal with the same people from the walkthrough through the final punch list. On a job this disruptive, that matters more than most people expect.

How a job actually runs

A walkthrough, not a sales call

We start by looking at the space together. You tell us what is bothering you about it and what you want instead; we tell you what is realistic, what it takes, and where the money actually goes.

Demo, then an honest conversation

Once things are open we can see the framing, the substrate and whatever the last crew left behind. Anything we find gets shown to you with a plan attached, not buried under new drywall.

The build, run on a schedule you can see

Same crew, predictable days, the space swept before we leave. Remodeling is disruptive enough without wondering whether anyone is showing up.

Where the money actually goes

Nobody likes a contractor who will not talk about cost. We will, in detail, at the walkthrough. What we will not do is quote from a phone call, because the number would be fiction.

The largest variable is almost always whether things move. Keeping the layout keeps the mechanical work small. Changing it means drains, vents, circuits and often framing.

What we uncover during demolition is the second thing that moves cost. We cannot see through drywall, but we look wherever we can get to before we quote.

Seeing more of it

We only show our own work. More of it lives in the gallery, sorted by project type, and it covers the construction stages too, so you can see what sits under the finished surfaces.

Working with a small shop

Size changes who picks up when you have a concern. On our jobs that is Igor, standing in the room, rather than an office coordinator passing a message along to a crew lead.

Being small also caps how many jobs we run at the same time. If our schedule is full, you will hear that from us along with an honest start date, and we will not sign your project just to let it sit until a crew opens up.

The crew that starts your project finishes it. That continuity matters more than most people expect on work that runs for weeks.

What we specify and why

Material choice is where a lot of remodeling money gets wasted, in both directions. Paying for the top of a product line rarely doubles its life, and buying the cheapest version of something structural almost always costs more within a decade.

Our general rule is to spend on the things that are expensive to replace and moderate on the things that are easy. Substrate, waterproofing, framing hardware and anything buried gets the good version, because reaching it again means demolition. Fixtures, finishes and hardware are swappable later, so those follow your budget and your taste rather than ours.

We will tell you where a cheaper option is genuinely fine. There are plenty of places in a house where the mid-grade product and the premium one come off the same line.

Timeline and disruption

Remodeling is disruptive, and pretending otherwise helps nobody. What we can control is whether it is predictable.

You get a schedule with real dates, the same crew throughout, and a heads up when anything shifts. Materials are ordered ahead of demolition so waiting happens before your house is open rather than during.

The site gets swept at the end of each day and dust control goes up before the work starts, not after somebody complains.

Looking after the work

A finished remodel is not maintenance free, but the list is short and most of it is easy.

Wet areas need their sealant checked periodically, because that joint is the one that moves. Exterior work needs the drainage kept clear. Anything mechanical wants the filter or the vent kept clean.

We hand that over at the end rather than assuming you will work it out. And if something does not seem right later on, we would rather you called us than lived with it.

Where this is

Questions people ask

Will we be able to live in the house during the work?

For most single-room projects, yes. Full home remodels and larger additions are harder, and we will tell you honestly at the walkthrough whether staying is realistic.

How long does a project like this take?

We will not give you a timeline over the phone, because the honest answer depends on what is behind the walls. Once we have walked the job, you get dates. A single bathroom tends to land in the few-weeks range, and full remodels take months.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. If the work requires a permit, we pull it and we schedule the inspections. That covers structural changes, additions, and most electrical or plumbing relocation.

What happens if you find something unexpected?

You get a call that same day, with photos. We explain what we found and how we want to handle it, and nothing gets covered up without your knowledge.

How do we get started?

Reach us at (678) 665-7771 or through the contact page. We will find a time to see the space in person. There is no charge for that visit and nobody will lean on you to sign.

Who is actually on site?

Igor, along with the crew that started your job. He works on site instead of managing a dozen projects from a phone, which is the whole reason the company is kept small.

Let us come look at your Tucker project

Jobs go wrong in the parts you cannot see, which is why the walkthrough comes first. Igor will look at the space and give you a clear answer on scope before anything is torn out. Book it at (678) 665-7771 or through the contact page. The crew you meet stays on the job until the punch list is done.
