About Us

Finished living space with wood flooring and fresh white walls

About SSRGA

A small shop, on purpose

SSRGA has been remodeling homes across the north metro since 2021. The company is deliberately small, and that is the whole argument.

Why Igor left

Twenty years, then a decision

Before 2021, Igor Dubovoy worked for a company doing something like five hundred remodels a month. Twenty years in the trade had taught him what good work looks like, and that was not it. He started SSRGA to prove a smaller shop can outbuild a bigger one when it is not chasing throughput.

Five hundred remodels a month is a logistics operation. It has to be. At that pace the people doing the work are measured on how fast a unit closes out, and the parts of the job that do not show up in a photo are the first thing to go.

SSRGA runs a small number of projects at once. Igor is on the jobs rather than dispatching them, and the same crew that starts a project finishes it.

What that looks like on a job

Most of what separates good work from adequate work is buried by the time the job is done. The substrate under the floor, the studs behind the drywall, the decking under the roof. Those are the parts that decide how the finish holds up, and they are the parts a fast crew skips.

So the process is built around showing you the hidden work while it is still visible. Photos at demolition. A conversation about anything unexpected the day it turns up. Framing and substrate corrected rather than covered.

It is slower than the alternative. That is the trade, and it is the one worth making on something you are going to live in.

How a job actually runs

We walk the space with you

Igor comes out, looks at what is actually there, and talks through what you want. No sales pitch, no pressure to decide that day. You get a straight read on what the job involves and what it will take.

We open it up and deal with what we find

Demolition tells the truth about a house. Rot, bad framing, plumbing someone improvised in 1985. We show you what turns up and how we plan to handle it before we cover any of it back up.

We build it and keep you in the loop

You know who is coming and when. The site gets cleaned at the end of the day. If something changes, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.

How scope drives cost

Two versions of the same project can differ enormously depending on choices that have nothing to do with what you can see at the end.

Most of the price is set by layout and structure. Moving a tub, taking out a wall or building out are what cost money, and upgrading the tile moves it far less.

We will lay out where those decision points are for your project, including where spending more genuinely buys you something and where it does not.

Timeline and disruption

Remodeling is disruptive, and pretending otherwise helps nobody. What we can control is whether it is predictable.

You get a schedule with real dates, the same crew throughout, and a heads up when anything shifts. Materials are ordered ahead of demolition so waiting happens before your house is open rather than during.

The site gets swept at the end of each day and dust control goes up before the work starts, not after somebody complains.

Working with a small shop

Size changes who picks up when you have a concern. On our jobs that is Igor, standing in the room, rather than an office coordinator passing a message along to a crew lead.

Being small also caps how many jobs we run at the same time. If our schedule is full, you will hear that from us along with an honest start date, and we will not sign your project just to let it sit until a crew opens up.

The crew that starts your project finishes it. That continuity matters more than most people expect on work that runs for weeks.

What we specify and why

Material choice is where a lot of remodeling money gets wasted, in both directions. Paying for the top of a product line rarely doubles its life, and buying the cheapest version of something structural almost always costs more within a decade.

Our general rule is to spend on the things that are expensive to replace and moderate on the things that are easy. Substrate, waterproofing, framing hardware and anything buried gets the good version, because reaching it again means demolition. Fixtures, finishes and hardware are swappable later, so those follow your budget and your taste rather than ours.

We will tell you where a cheaper option is genuinely fine. There are plenty of places in a house where the mid-grade product and the premium one come off the same line.

The permitting side

We handle permits and inspections as part of the job rather than treating them as your problem.

The rules here are not uniform. Six counties means six sets of requirements, and on top of that individual cities within them have their own. We work out what applies before design gets far.

Inspections are useful. They catch exactly the details that cause failures later, and an inspector looking at a ledger connection or a rough electrical run is a second set of eyes we are happy to have.

Questions people ask

How do we get started?

Reach us at (678) 665-7771 or through the contact page. We will find a time to see the space in person. There is no charge for that visit and nobody will lean on you to sign.

What happens if you find something unexpected?

You find out that day. Old houses hide things, and when we open a wall and find one, we send pictures and tell you what we recommend before any work continues on it.

How long does a project like this take?

It depends on scope and on what we find when we open things up. A single bathroom is usually a few weeks; a full home remodel runs months. We give you a real schedule after the walkthrough, and we tell you when it moves.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. You will not be asked to go down to the county office. When the work needs a permit, such as an addition, a structural change or most plumbing and electrical moves, we pull it and handle every inspection.

Will we be able to live in the house during the work?

Most families stay put during a one-room job, a bathroom or a kitchen say. When the project covers the whole house or adds major square footage, staying gets harder, and we will say so plainly before you commit.

Who is actually on site?

The people you met at the walkthrough. Igor stays hands-on, so when you have a question at the job site, the answer comes from someone holding the tools.

Come talk to us about your house

Call (678) 665-7771 or send a note through the contact page. Igor will come look at the space, talk through what you want, and give you a straight answer on scope. We are not the biggest shop in the north metro and have no interest in being. Fewer jobs at a time is the whole point.
