Sink Installation

Bathroom Remodeling

Sink Installation done properly

Sink installs are quick when the rough plumbing lines up and slow when it does not.

What this work involves

Undermount, drop-in, vessel and wall-hung all want different things from the cabinet and the wall. An undermount needs a top that can carry it and the right clips. A vessel raises the faucet height and often needs a wall-mount or tall deck faucet to work at all.

The trap arm height is the thing that catches people. If the sink bowl is deeper than the old one, the drain can end up below the existing stub-out and the trap ends up with no fall.

We check clearances against the actual fixture before ordering rather than after.

The sequence on a job like this

  • Fixture and cabinet clearances checked against the rough plumbing
  • Supply lines and shutoffs replaced as needed
  • Sink set and sealed, faucet and drain assembly fitted
  • Trap arm adjusted for proper fall and leak checked under load

What we look at before quoting sink installation

Every sink installation job starts the same way: we look at what the new work has to sit on. We check clearances against the actual fixture before ordering rather than after.

That is the difference between a number you can rely on and one that moves the moment the first wall comes open. We would rather find the complication at the walkthrough than discover it in week two.

Worth knowing

The thing that usually goes wrong

A deep bowl that drops the drain below the stub-out. The trap has no slope and the sink drains slowly forever.

You can only see about a third of a finished remodel. The rest is behind drywall and under tile, and that hidden two thirds is what decides whether the visible third still looks right in ten years. It is also where corners get cut, because nobody is going to check.

If you want a look at yours, call (678) 665-7771 or send us a note. The walkthrough is free and Igor will give you a straight answer about scope.

Where we do this work

Every city we cover is on the service areas page. The short version: Roswell is home base, and the work reaches across Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett and DeKalb, from Alpharetta, GA and Woodstock, GA to Marietta, GA and thirty-nine more.

Have a look at the gallery for finished work, or call (678) 665-7771 and we will come out.

How scope drives cost

Two versions of the same project can differ enormously depending on choices that have nothing to do with what you can see at the end.

People tend to worry about countertop and tile prices. The decisions that really move cost are structural, like relocating a tub or taking out a wall.

We will lay out where those decision points are for your project, including where spending more genuinely buys you something and where it does not.

What the schedule actually looks like

We give you a real schedule after the walkthrough, and we tell you when it moves. Most schedule slippage in remodeling comes from two places: material lead times and things found during demolition.

Lead times we manage by ordering early. Cabinets, windows, specialty tile and anything custom gets ordered before demolition where the sequence allows, so you are not living in a half-finished room waiting on a delivery.

Discovery we manage by budgeting time for it. On any house over about twenty years old, something turns up. Planning as though nothing will is how projects end up months late with everyone frustrated.

Working with a small shop

The main thing you notice is that nothing gets lost in translation. Igor is at the house, so when you ask why something is being done a certain way, you get the answer from him directly.

Size also decides how many projects we accept. Igor watched a high-volume shop book more than its crews could do well, so overbooking is the one habit we avoid. When we are full, you get the truth and a date we can actually hit.

The crew that starts your project finishes it. That continuity matters more than most people expect on work that runs for weeks.

Keeping it right afterward

Remodels rarely fail all at once. They wear out from small neglect, like a shower joint nobody recaulked, or an exhaust fan dumping moisture into the attic instead of outside.

We walk you through what your specific project needs and how often. Some of it is annual, some of it is once every several years, and most of it takes minutes.

Our number does not stop working when the job ends. If a door starts sticking or a joint opens up, call and we will come see it.

Questions people ask

Can we use a deeper bowl?

Sometimes, and it is worth checking first. A deep bowl can drop the drain below the existing stub-out, which leaves the trap arm with no fall and a sink that drains slowly forever.

Does a vessel sink need a special faucet?

Usually. The bowl sits on top of the counter, so a standard deck faucet ends up too low. It needs a tall deck-mount or a wall-mount, planned before the counter is drilled.

Can you convert a tub to a walk-in shower?

Yes, and it is one of the more common requests we get. The work involves the drain, the waterproofing and usually some framing, which is why it matters who does it.

What happens if you find something unexpected?

You find out that day. Old houses hide things, and when we open a wall and find one, we send pictures and tell you what we recommend before any work continues on it.

Will we be able to live in the house during the work?

For most single-room projects, yes. Full home remodels and larger additions are harder, and we will tell you honestly at the walkthrough whether staying is realistic.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. You will not be asked to go down to the county office. When the work needs a permit, such as an addition, a structural change or most plumbing and electrical moves, we pull it and handle every inspection.

Let us take a look at your sink installation project

The walkthrough is free and Igor does it himself. Set it up at (678) 665-7771 or through the contact page. He left a company doing about five hundred remodels a month because the work got worse as the numbers went up, and that is why we cap how many jobs we run at once.
