Basement Remodeling done properly
A basement is the cheapest square footage in most houses, provided you deal with water before you frame anything.
What this work involves
Moisture comes first, always. Grading and gutters outside, any active seepage addressed, and a vapor strategy for the slab and the foundation walls. Framing against a wall that wicks moisture produces mold behind new drywall within a couple of years.

Egress is the second question. A basement bedroom needs a code-compliant egress window or door, and retrofitting one means cutting the foundation and building a well. It is very doable and it is not a small line item.
Ceiling height decides the rest. Ductwork, beams and plumbing runs eat headroom, and how those get handled determines whether the finished space feels like a basement or like part of the house.
The sequence on a job like this
- Moisture assessed and addressed before any framing
- Egress window or door where the plan includes bedrooms
- Framing held off the foundation wall with the right vapor strategy
- Mechanical rerouting for headroom, then insulation, drywall, flooring and finish

What we look at before quoting basement remodeling
Every basement remodeling job starts the same way: we look at what the new work has to sit on. Ceiling height decides the rest. Ductwork, beams and plumbing runs eat headroom, and how those get handled determines whether the finished space feels like a basement or like part of the house.
Most cost overruns trace back to something that could have been spotted before work began. That is why we take our time at the walkthrough and ask the awkward questions then.
Worth knowing
The thing that usually goes wrong
Framing tight against a foundation wall with no vapor control. It looks fine for two years and then it smells.
You can only see about a third of a finished remodel. The rest is behind drywall and under tile, and that hidden two thirds is what decides whether the visible third still looks right in ten years. It is also where corners get cut, because nobody is going to check.
Catching this early is what the walkthrough is for, and it is free. Call (678) 665-7771 or contact us here, and Igor will come out and give you a straight read on what you are looking at.
Other home work
All of it is on the home remodeling services page.
Where we do this work
We stay close to home. The company is based in Roswell and takes work in six counties, Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett and DeKalb. Marietta, GA, Woodstock, GA and Alpharetta, GA are three of the cities on our service areas page, next to thirty-nine others.
Have a look at the gallery for finished work, or call (678) 665-7771 and we will come out.
Where the money actually goes
You will get a full cost breakdown when we come out, and no quote before that. Pricing a remodel from a phone call means guessing, and you would end up holding a figure that falls apart once we see the house.
The largest variable is almost always whether things move. Keeping the layout keeps the mechanical work small. Changing it means drains, vents, circuits and often framing.
Hidden conditions come next. Rot, old repairs and outdated wiring do not show up on a phone call, which is why we inspect what we can at the walkthrough and price the job afterward.
The permitting side
We handle permits and inspections as part of the job rather than treating them as your problem.
The rules here are not uniform. Six counties means six sets of requirements, and on top of that individual cities within them have their own. We work out what applies before design gets far.
Inspections are useful. They catch exactly the details that cause failures later, and an inspector looking at a ledger connection or a rough electrical run is a second set of eyes we are happy to have.
What it is like to have us here
Predictable hours, the same faces, and a site that gets cleaned before we leave. Floor protection and dust barriers go in before work starts.
You will know who is coming and roughly when. If a subcontractor is on site for a day, you will know that in advance too.
Questions get answered directly. There is no chain of communication to work through, because the person doing the work is the person you have been talking to since the walkthrough.
Keeping it right afterward
Remodels rarely fail all at once. They wear out from small neglect, like a shower joint nobody recaulked, or an exhaust fan dumping moisture into the attic instead of outside.
We walk you through what your specific project needs and how often. Some of it is annual, some of it is once every several years, and most of it takes minutes.
If something we installed starts acting up, let us know. We want to see it ourselves, since we know how it was built, instead of you putting up with it or paying someone else to guess.
Questions people ask
Can we put a bedroom down there?
Only with a code-compliant egress window or door. Retrofitting one means cutting the foundation and building a well, which is very doable and not a small line item.
What about moisture?
It gets solved before anything is framed. Framing against a wall that wicks moisture produces mold behind new drywall within a couple of years, and by then it is a much bigger job.
What does a full home remodel actually include?
Usually every finish surface, the kitchen and baths, often the flooring throughout, and whatever framing, electrical and plumbing corrections the house needs along the way.
Do you handle permits?
Yes, on the work that needs them. Structural changes, additions, most electrical and plumbing moves all get pulled and inspected. We handle the paperwork and the inspections.
Who is actually on site?
Igor is. He spent twenty years in the trade and still works the jobs himself, alongside a crew that stays with your project until it is done.
How long does a project like this take?
The part that stretches a schedule is usually hidden: rot under a tub, old wiring, framing that was never right. That is why the timeline comes after the walkthrough, and why we tell you right away if something we uncover changes it. Bathrooms are typically a few weeks, whole homes several months.
Let us take a look at your basement remodeling project
Set up a walkthrough by calling (678) 665-7771 or through the contact page. Igor will come to the house, hear what you want, and tell you honestly what the scope is. We run fewer jobs than the big remodelers in the north metro do, and we like it that way, because it keeps him on every one of them.
