Toilet Replacement

Bathroom Remodeling

Toilet Replacement done properly

A toilet swap is a small job unless the flange or the floor underneath has gone, which is more often than people expect.

What this work involves

The replacement itself takes under an hour. What extends it is what we find when the old unit comes up: a cracked flange, a flange sitting below the finished floor after someone tiled over the old surface, or a subfloor that has been quietly soft for years.

We check all three before setting the new unit, because a toilet set on a bad flange rocks, and a rocking toilet breaks its own wax seal and starts the cycle again.

If the floor is soft we will tell you before we set anything. Patching subfloor at that point is far cheaper than doing it after new flooring goes down.

The sequence on a job like this

  • Old unit removed and the flange, bolts and subfloor inspected
  • Flange repaired, replaced or extended to the finished floor height
  • New unit set on a fresh seal, shimmed level and secured without overtightening
  • Supply line replaced and the whole thing leak checked

What we look at before quoting toilet replacement

Every toilet replacement job starts the same way: we look at what the new work has to sit on. If the floor is soft we will tell you before we set anything. Patching subfloor at that point is far cheaper than doing it after new flooring goes down.

A problem found on the walkthrough is a line item. The same problem found after demolition is a delay and a change order. We prefer to find it the first way.

Worth knowing

The thing that usually goes wrong

Setting a new toilet on a flange that sits below the tile. It will rock and leak no matter how much wax goes under it.

Finishes get the photographs, and the parts underneath decide whether the job lasts. On houses like these, that means checking what the new tile will be set on and fixing framing before the walls close up.

Want Igor to take a look at your project? Call (678) 665-7771 or reach us online. The walkthrough costs nothing, and you will get an honest answer on scope.

Where we do this work

We cover six counties out of Roswell: Fulton, Cobb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett and DeKalb. That includes Alpharetta, GA, Marietta, GA and Woodstock, GA, and thirty-nine other cities listed on the service areas page.

Have a look at the gallery for finished work, or call (678) 665-7771 and we will come out.

How scope drives cost

Two versions of the same project can differ enormously depending on choices that have nothing to do with what you can see at the end.

If you want to control cost, focus on the layout. Keeping fixtures in place and the footprint the same saves far more than picking a cheaper finish ever will.

We will lay out where those decision points are for your project, including where spending more genuinely buys you something and where it does not.

What it is like to have us here

Predictable hours, the same faces, and a site that gets cleaned before we leave. Floor protection and dust barriers go in before work starts.

You will know who is coming and roughly when. If a subcontractor is on site for a day, you will know that in advance too.

Questions get answered directly. There is no chain of communication to work through, because the person doing the work is the person you have been talking to since the walkthrough.

How long this takes

The honest answer is that it depends on scope and on what the house has been hiding, but that is not an excuse for a vague schedule. After the walkthrough you get dates.

We sequence around lead times rather than starting demolition and hoping. If the cabinets are eight weeks out, we do not tear out your kitchen in week one.

When something does change, you hear it from us the day we know. The worst version of a remodel is the one where the homeowner works out the schedule has slipped by noticing nobody showed up.

Keeping it right afterward

Daily wear is rarely what ruins good work. Moisture is. Old caulk that cracks and a fan that only pushes air into the ceiling are both small things, and both add up over a decade.

We walk you through what your specific project needs and how often. Some of it is annual, some of it is once every several years, and most of it takes minutes.

Our number does not stop working when the job ends. If a door starts sticking or a joint opens up, call and we will come see it.

Questions people ask

Why does our toilet rock?

Almost always the flange. If it sits below the finished floor, usually because someone tiled over the old surface, no amount of wax will stop the rocking, and a rocking toilet breaks its own seal.

What if the floor underneath is soft?

We will tell you before setting anything new. Patching subfloor at that moment is far cheaper than doing it after new flooring goes down.

Can you convert a tub to a walk-in shower?

Yes, and it is one of the more common requests we get. The work involves the drain, the waterproofing and usually some framing, which is why it matters who does it.

Do you handle permits?

Yes, wherever the job calls for them. We file the paperwork and meet the inspectors. Additions, structural work and most relocated plumbing or electrical all go through permitting with us.

How long does a project like this take?

Longer than the TV shows suggest, and shorter than most people fear once it is planned properly. A bathroom generally runs a few weeks. A whole-house remodel runs months. After Igor sees the space you get an actual schedule, and you hear from us the moment anything pushes it.

Will we be able to live in the house during the work?

That is one of the first things we sort out at the walkthrough. Single-room work rarely forces anyone out. A full remodel or a large addition might, and we would rather tell you up front than surprise you.

Let us take a look at your toilet replacement project

Start with a walkthrough. Call (678) 665-7771 or reach us through the contact page, and Igor will come out, look at the space as it is, and tell you plainly what the scope looks like. A job like this takes over part of your house for weeks, so it helps that the people you meet on day one are the same people finishing the job.
